How to create Partition in windows 7?

In my previous blog post, I described how to use the Microsoft Windows 7 Disk Management  tool to shrink an existing hard drive volume. How to shrink volume in windows7?  When you shrunk a volume you are able to create new partition on the newly empty space and create a new logical hard drive for your Windows operating system.

The Windows 7 Disk Management tool provides a simple interface for managing partitions and volumes. Many people like to partition their hard drive for multiple reasons.Here I will show you how to create new partition for windows 7 in easy steps in this post.





1.Click on Windows  start  button.Type diskmgmt.msc in a search box.See Figure 1.

2.Now Click diskmgmt option on the left panel. It will load disk configuration information.Your  Disk Management Tool will look something like figure 2.

   All the information of partitions in your computer will be displayed on the right hand side.See  figure 3.

3. In the middle pane, right click on the empty unallocated partition or volume and click on New Simple Volume. This starts the New Simple Volume Wizard. (Note: If you need to create unallocated space, see the Tip How to shrink volume in windows 7? ) .See Figure 4.

4.Click Next on the Welcome screen to start the process.See Figure 5

5.Now,type in how many MB (1 GB = 1024 MB) you want to use from the unallocated space to create the new partition with, then click on the Next button.See Figure 6.

6.On the Assign Drive Letter Or Path page, specify whether you want to assign a drive letter or path and then click Next. The available options can be seen in Figure 7.

7.Format the volume using NTFS file system. Type in a volume label name that you want for the new partition, check the Perform a quick format box, and click on the Next button. See Figure 8.

8.The last screen in the wizard  gives you a summary of your choices and the opportunity to step back and make changes.Click finish to confirm your options  .See Figure 9

After completing this process your new primary partition or volume has now been created and ready to store your files.
