Prior to the “unveiling event” that Sony’s planning to hold in Berlin at the end of the month, some details regarding its mysterious Xperia tablet have recently popped online. From the use of Tegra 3 processor to its 9.4-inch HD display, the leaked slides show that Sony means serious business this time around by featuring specs that won’t disappoint, in order for the device to compete with the best tablets in the market.
While the specs definitely seem promising, the slides didn’t have any clear pictures of the tablet to really pique our interest. That is, until promotional pictures of the “evolved” Xperia tablet have been mercifully leaked.
Gone is the wedge shape that the previous Tablet S comes with. Actually, it’s not completely gone, but it’s somewhat been refined. The back cover is cladded with plastic on top, where you can see the Xperia branding, while the rest of the body is covered in aluminum. The power and volume button, meanwhile, are positioned on the right side of the tablet. Software-wise, the tablet seems to be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Aside from the fact that it’s set to be another gorgeous tablet offering from Sony, we now know that Xperia will be part of the tablet’s name. If the tablet is really priced to move (cheapest 16GB model to start at $400), we think Sony will have a good Q4. Guess we’ll have to wait for a couple of more weeks to find out the complete details. In the meantime, enjoy the leaked pictures of the slate.
